Six Sigma certification allows a company to attest the fact that the employee who has attended the certification program has the fundamental knowledge of Six Sigma. Myth 3: Six Sigma certification is all about theoretical knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.

True, Six Sigma certification involves one getting exposed to quite a lot of theory in terms of the methodologies used in Six Sigma. But a good source of training for Six Sigma will always believe in testing the candidates for certification with a case study. A case study is where the candidates will need to apply all the knowledge they assimilate during the training process to get results of the case study.

Myth 4: There is one certification body which certifies professionals in Six Sigma.

This is the biggest of them all. With a globally accepted set of practices as Six Sigma is, one would have thought that it is monitored by one central agency. In truth, it is not. With so many companies offering training and consultancy services, Certification is indeed a decentralized process with same companies offering certification services as a part of a training - cum - certification package.

All myths apart, one truth on the plate is the fact that the role of a Six Sigma Certification can not be underwritten. Whether that be Six Sigma education or Six Sigma Training, Six Sigma certification is indeed in demand by lot of companies.
